William O'Connell

Bill OConnell has spent over 30 years within independent church leadership. He has served as the Treasurer of local churches for over 20 years, and during that time has forged a reputation as an accomplished church financial professional. He has also served as a Deacon and Elder of the churches where he has been a member.

He started his firm with the vision of providing practical financial wisdom to ministries of Jesus Christ. Since its founding, Wisdom Over Wealth has served Christian ministries on four continents in activities ranging from water drilling in Africa, to some of the largest churches in the developing world, and a local Christian Counseling Organization. Wisdom currently serves as the principal service provider to a Christian international loan fund.

Bill believes that financial reporting must be simple to understand, and free from the accounting jargon that interferes with clear communication to church members. The design of One-Click Accounting reflects that belief.

In his secular career, Bill was a founder and senior executive of two software companies, as well as the financial executive of a Boston based investment management firm. He has been a Certified Public Accountant for 33 years. He also holds the AICPA’s distinct title of Personal Financial Specialist (PFS).

For the last eight years, Bill has been a member of the Board of Directors of Vision Service Plan (VSP) in Rancho Cordova, California. VSP is a $3.5 billion vision-care company. It is the largest health-care provider in the United States providing vision care to over 53 million Americans.
